Char's Pomeranians

About Us!!!

Hello and welcome to Char's Poms. My husband and I call the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan home, along with our two sons and our Pom babies. Our house was built in the 1880's and after extensive remodeling, it is a place we love to call home.

MARCH 2008

I purchased my first Pomeranian in 1994 but did not decide to breed and show Poms until 1998. In these past few years, I have enjoyed breeding several champions, group winners, and even a few Best In Show Pomeranians. I am proud to have put championship titles on 86 Pomeranians, 72 of those were home-bred. I was the American Pomeranian Club's top exhibitor in 2005, 2006, and 2008. 2nd place for Top Exhibitor in 2007. Top 2 breeder 2006, 2007, and 2008.

Here at Chars Poms, it is my goal to raise Pomeranians of the highest quality temperament, type, and soundness. Our Poms are held several times each day from the time they are born. They are raised in my home, amongst my family, giving the best opportunities for socialization.
In my breeding program, I strive to breed happy, healthy Pomeranians according to the standard of the American Pomeranian Club and the American Kennel Club. I enjoy a challenge so I decided to put my time into an area where I felt I could make the most difference for the breed -
THE PARTI-POM.

I have two completely separate breeding programs. The first consists of Pomeranians that have no parti-color in their pedigree. These are orange, cream, sable, black, and black & tan. The second breeding program is for my parti-colors. I have all of the above colors in parti-color as well as chocolate parti-color. I am having allot of fun with the challenge of breeding quality Pomeranians in a variety of colors.
When I started with parti-color, my dream was to show one parti pom to championship. I was quickly on my way to making this a dream come true with my first parti-color champion, Ch. Finch's Rockin Parti. In wrapping up 2003, I had finished my second parti-color Pomeranian Ch. Finch'sChar's Spellbound Parti. He is currently the youngest, fastest finishing parti in the history of the breed and the World's Top Winning Parti-Pom. By January 2010, I have finished my 17th home bred parti-color and 20 parti-color champions. I have also put dual titles on a parti-pom - this being the first parti-pom to have a championship title in more than one country. I now dream to see parti-color Poms compete on an equal basis in the show ring all around the world. I hope to see the day when all this is more than a dream.

I want to give a special thank you to my dedicated handler and friend, Lynn Meyer, for putting so much love and care into my Pom babies. Char's Pomeranians would not be the same without her.

By raising my Pom babies in our loving home, I promote strong temperaments and healthy minds. I occasionally have pet or show puppies available. All my pet puppies are sold on a spay/neuter contract. Breeding/Show prospect pups are sold on a show contract with full AKC registration and priced according to age and quality.

All our puppies are raised to believe they are the next STAR.

I strive to learn everything I can about the Pomeranian and all the wonderful people who treasure the Pom as I do. I have met many wonderful people and look forward to meeting many more in the years to come...

You can currently see Char's Poms in the show rings of Canada, Mexico, England, Germany, Norway, Finland, Sweden, South Africa, Poland, Russia, Portugal, Spain, France, Switzerland, Italy, Czech Republic, United Arab Emirates, Bulgaria, South Korea, Manila, Hong Kong, Thailand, Israel, Japan, The Netherlands, Slovenia, Argentina, Brazil, Panama, Iceland, and Taiwan.

The above picture is of the puppy pens where the puppies over 4 months of age sleep at night.

Our boys are growing up. They are now 15 and 7. Thankfully, they still enjoy going to the dog shows. Most of all, they love lounging in the room and swimming in the pool. Our youngest son has his boy Gizmo though and they have pulled off a few Best of Breed wins together.

And, here is proof positive that Poms and children can get along very well. Of course, children must be taught how to treat an animal if you want your child and pet to have this kind of bond.
